Do Not Turn Again to The Weak and Beggarly Elements of the World

< Galatians 4:1-11 >

“Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is master of all, but is under guardians and stewards until the time appointed by the father. Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world. But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, ‘Abba, Father!’ Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. But then, indeed, when you did not know God, you served those which by nature are not gods. But now after you have known God, or rather are known by God, how is it that you turn again to the weak and beggarly elements, to which you desire again to be in bondage? You observe days and months and seasons and years. I am afraid for you, lest I have labored for you in vain.”

Do Our Sins Disappear Only by Offering Prayers of Repentance?

It was about 2000 years ago from now when Paul was writing this letter. The elements during those days were very much different from that of current times, and just meant learning and training a life of faith by following the Law. Jewish people learned everything by studying at schools that taught the Law. Paul also learned to fear God according to the Law while he was studying under Gamaliel, one of the greatest teachers of the Law at that time. And this was why the Apostle Paul called learning and following the Law, not knowing the coming of the Savior Jesus, the elements.

Paul’s faith was the one that believed in the gospel of the water and the Spirit through which the Lord came to this earth and saved us from the sins of the world. Paul said, “Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is master of all, but is under guardians and stewards until the time appointed by the father.” What Paul had really wanted to say in this passage was about becoming heirs to the heavenly Kingdom after becoming the children of God by believing in the gospel of the water and the Spirit. Before meeting the Lord Jesus on this earth, we were under the Law and in absolute need of the Savior.

Therefore, we must know with certainty what it means to have a legalistic life of faith. There were many feasts in the nation of Israel such as the Passover, the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the Feast of the First Fruits, and the Feast of Tabernacles. Legalistic faith refers to the faith of keeping these feasts holy and also the Sabbath, as well as all the statutes of the Law. So, the Apostle Paul defined the legalists thus by mentioning, “You observe days and months and seasons and years” (Galatians 4:10). They still insisted, even after the Savior had come, that only by keeping the feasts and the Sabbath holy and receiving the circumcision in the flesh, could one be saved and become the children of God.

Hence, among today’s Christian believers, could there be people who still try to lead legalistic lives of faith? If there are, what would they be like? During the Early Church era, there were those among Jewish people who had believed that one could become a people of God and a descendant of Abraham only by receiving the circumcision in the flesh.

Then, are there people who lead legalistic lives of faith inside Christianity today? Yes, there are many. They are the ones who try to be cleansed of their sins by offering prayers of repentance, even though they profess to follow and believe in Jesus as the Savior. Most Christians today still believe that they can receive continued cleansing of their sins by offering prayers of repentance. Such people did not break away from the legalistic life of faith even in the New Testament era. However, it makes my heart ache to see that so many Christians still have legalistic faith even now, after Jesus Christ had already blotted out our sins once and for all by the gospel of the water and the Spirit. What makes me feel even more frustrated is that there are just a few people who know about the seriousness of how the legalistic life of faith stands against God.

Truly, among those who proclaim to believe in Jesus, individuals who believe that the completion of salvation is only achieved by abiding by God’s Law, offering prayer of repentance, and advocating the doctrine of sanctification, lead a life of faith as far as possible from the gospel Truth of the water and the Spirit. Therefore, if you are still in such a legalistic faith, you should now discard it and understand the need to believe in the gospel of the water and the Spirit.

However, it is not that the Law of God is unnecessary to us. Rather, it is necessary for us to realize that it is wrong to follow God’s Law without understanding why God had given it to us. God gave us His Law in order to make us realize our sins. We need to understand the function of the Law of God, and then, only by doing so, we would be able to have faith in the gospel of the water and the Spirit and become His people by being saved from all our sins.

In retrospect, we can see that we have led a life of legalistic faith while trapped inside the Law for a long time. Nonetheless, after the gospel of the water and the Spirit came to us, God transformed us into the righteous, who no longer have to be under the Law. Thus, we came to belong to Jesus Christ. Now, we are the spiritual children of Abraham by the gospel of the water and the Spirit, and we became heirs to God’s Kingdom as promised by God.

Yet, even now, we see people leading lives of legalistic faith, strongly believing that one has to offer prayers of repentance. Without knowing about the gospel Truth of the water and the Spirit, they continue to believe in Jesus, while saying that anyone who believes in Jesus as the Savior can receive the remission of sins, that the original sin was forgiven by believing in the blood of the Cross, and that all personal sins can be cleansed by prayers of repentance. They believe that they are always sinners despite their belief in Jesus as the Savior, and therefore insist that they have to live as holy as they can, and that they will be able to go to Heaven by having no sin at the time of their deaths. Such people have become opponents of God and His church, for they have been standing against God in trying to receive remission of their sins by offering prayers of repentance daily. As such, they are convinced that by offering prayers of repentance, they are remitted of all their sins.

However, although it was not their wish, they became an enemy of God. Because the sins were left intact within their hearts, those with such faith are living while trapped inside their sins, only being able to live by offering prayers of repentance everyday. And thus, most Christians continue to lead a foolish life of faith, not knowing the gospel Truth of the water and the Spirit.

Come to think of it, we can see that almost all Christian believers of this world are leading a legalistic life of faith under the elements. Almost all Christian communities have erroneously taught their members that a person can receive remission of sins by offering prayers of repentance. But such teachings are taking God’s love in vain. As a result, today’s Christian believers have come to be under the Law as well as the elements of the world.

You may meet many people, who lead lives of legalistic faith in vain under the Law, among your acquaintances. In this current world, it wouldn’t be too far fetched to say that almost all Christians believe that they are cleansed of their sins by offering prayers of repentance. Most religions, such as Christianity, Catholicism, Judaism, Confucianism, and Buddhism, have a common doctrine, even though they have their own gods. This common doctrine is the faith that they can cleanse themselves of their sins by offering prayers of repentance. They commonly believe that they can go to Heaven by cleansing their sins through their virtuous deeds and offering prayers of repentance.

Because all the Christian denominations believe that one can receive the remission of sins by offering prayers of repentance, numerous people continue to believe in Jesus in vain. This is why most Christians move toward death with sins still in their hearts, while committing sins unintentionally everyday despite their belief in Jesus as the Savior. They are those who lead a life of faith without properly knowing the gospel Truth of the water and the Spirit, even now. They are those who are not people of God because they still have sins in their hearts and cannot say, “I do not have sin,” before God because there are numerous sins recorded on the tablets of their conscience. Because there is no gospel of the water and the Spirit in the hearts of such people, they have no witnesses of having received the Holy Spirit and the remission of sins.

These people are spiritually blind, so they continue to believe in Jesus in vain while saying, “Since I continue to believe in Jesus as my Savior, I will one day become a person without sins by His grace.” However, a common feature among these people is that they are still sinners and they continue to live bound under the Law due to their sins.

What Do We Have to Do for Such People?

The Apostle Paul reprimanded the faith of the people who insisted that one had to receive the circumcision in the flesh to become a people of God. As such, before you preach the gospel of the water and the Spirit to those around you, you have to make them recognize that one cannot receive remission of sins by offering prayers of repentance.

You should question back to those who believe that one can receive the cleansing of sins by prayers of repentance like this: “Did the sins in your heart disappear when you offered prayers of repentance?” We should ask them like that, and by doing so, we have to convince them of their erroneous faith before we deliver the gospel of the water and the Spirit in detail. We must teach those who erroneously believe in Jesus the real truth that one cannot receive the remission of one’s sins through prayers of repentance. That is because they would be receiving judgment from God since those who lead a life of legalistic faith are all sinners. They know that their hearts are bound by sin, and that their spirits would be cursed by God for sure. For this reason, we must teach them the gospel of the water and the Spirit. To those who have legalistic faith, we must make them realize that they are those who have not yet received the remission of sins before God and make them accept the fact that their sins cannot be remitted by offering prayers of repentance. Also, we have to make them return to the true gospel of the water and the Spirit by teaching them the truth that the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

I would like to remind you once again about the fact that, in this day and age, we must let those who believe in the prayer of repentance know about the gospel of the water and the Spirit. We must tell them of the truth that one cannot receive the cleansing of sins by prayers of repentance. It is because by doing so, such people will realize that their faith is mistaken and that the gospel of the water and the Spirit is the gospel that saves them from all their sins. I am certain that we would abundantly receive spiritual blessings by coming to know that Jesus had truly washed away all our sin by the baptism that He had received from John and by His blood on the Cross.

Now, we must understand that among us, the born-again, there is no one who believes in Jesus erroneously, for we know that the gospel of the water and the Spirit has already cleansed our sins perfectly. We must be aware that legalistic faith is wrong. Furthermore, we would be able to see the true salvation in our hearts, only after believing in the gospel of the water and the Spirit.

When I meditate on the Scripture passages of Galatians, I feel that there is so much to say. Through the words in Galatians, we could teach people all over the world who have started to believe in the gospel of the water and the Spirit about the erroneous faith of the circumcisionists. We could also witness the gospel Truth of the water and the Spirit much more clearly. It is absolutely necessary to teach them this, because, only by doing so, those who have faith in the gospel of the water and the Spirit can pass on their faith to those who are leading legalistic lives of faith. By accomplishing this, the born-again can cure the false faith of such people.

I hope all the newly born-again saints of the world read this book and have a clear understanding of the fallacy of prayers of repentance. It is because they do not know what to do first to convey the gospel of the water and the Spirit to those who try to receive the cleansing of their sins through prayers of repentance. Therefore, the words of Galatians would become a sword of the true salvation to the newly born-again believers of the gospel of the water and the Spirit. I am sure that these sermons on Galatians will be a good instrument for the newly born-again saints when they try to preach the gospel of the water and the Spirit to those who are still sinners. When spreading the gospel of the water and the Spirit, especially to those who are leading legalistic lives of faith among Christians, we need to correctly convey the fact that sins don’t disappear by offering prayers of repentance. And only by doing so can they receive salvation from all their sins by believing in the gospel of the water and the Spirit.

Although it is important to teach them the nature of sin and the righteousness of God beforehand, because they are basically churchgoers, we need to speak to them about the futility of the prayer of repentance before we preach the gospel of the water and the Spirit. To those who claim to believe in God as the Savior, we must ask them first, “Does your sin disappear when you offer prayers of repentance?” And it is most effective to tell them first that sins never go away through such endeavors, and then deliver the gospel of the water and the Spirit to them.

In Catholicism, they have the rite of reconciliation, which is similar to the prayer of repentance in Christianity. Catholics confess their sins to their parish priest, who sits behind a thin wall. They say, “I have committed such and such sins,” and then, the priest proclaims the forgiveness of sins with some penalties. When watching movies or TV dramas, you might have seen scenes of the Catholic sacrament of reconciliation or offering prayers of repentance many times. Actually, those places are hotbeds for the legalistic faith. Do the sins of people disappear through the prayers of repentance or the sacrament of reconciliation that they do? Through such methods and by such faith, their sins never disappear.

Yet, people today believe in Jesus as the Savior and they feel comfortable without knowing about the gospel of the water and the Spirit: They try to cleanse their sins by offering prayers of repentance while believing only in Jesus on the Cross as their Savior. This means that they try to believe in Jesus just by a way of religion. They tend to think that sins will disappear by offering prayers of repentance well. This is why they continue to be sinners despite their belief in Jesus as the Savior.

Long ago, many believers of Galatian churches received physical circumcision to avoid contempt and persecution of the circumcisionists who didn’t believe in Jesus properly. Put differently, they wanted to be approved of their faith by the false believers who were of legalistic faith. Such people desired neither the will of God nor the growth of their faith. They only wanted to escape from the persecution that was coming from their belief in Jesus.

It is only right that we receive persecution from friends, colleagues, and family members for knowing and believing in the real gospel Truth of the water and the Spirit after having been under the curse of the Law. You must know that there are those who are not true people of God even inside God’s Church. It is only right that we receive persecution from those who are not people of God, because of Jesus. Even the Apostle Paul, who had believed Judaism, suffered persecution from the legalists of Judaism. They tried to kill him when he preached the gospel of the water and the Spirit publicly. And so, the Apostle Paul said, “For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God” (1 Corinthians 1:18). “The message of the Cross” here refers to the gospel Truth that the Lord has delivered us from all of our sins by coming to this earth, bearing all our sins under the curse of the Law by receiving the baptism, being nailed to the Cross, and resurrecting from death. We must understand that “the message of the Cross” does not only refer to the death of Jesus Christ on the Cross. Rather we must know and believe that it refers to the fact that Jesus came to this earth, bore the sins of all humanity through His baptism, and died because of all those sins.

We have to recognize that it is natural for us to be persecuted because of our faith in Jesus Christ believing in the gospel of the water and the Spirit. The Bible also states, “Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution” (2 Timothy 3:12). It is proper to say that we would be despised by all the people in the world as well as by our friends and family members of the flesh after becoming the people of God by believing in the gospel of the water and the Spirit. After you had received the remission of sins by believing in the gospel of the water and the Spirit, some of your family members might accept it and be happy about it. But, didn’t some people start to hate you greatly? After we have come to receive the remission of sins by believing in the gospel of the water and the Spirit, we have seen many people who attack and hate us viciously without reason. They hate us for no reason because the evil spirits are inside the hearts of those who have not received the remission of sins. As Ishmael had persecuted Isaac in the Old Testament era, they are persecuting us in body and spirit.

There is only a small number of people among Christians in this world who know that the sins don’t disappear by the prayers of repentance that they offer. Thus, in order to break down these people’s wrong faith, we must tell them about the uselessness of the prayer of repentance. To do this, we ask them, “Did your sins disappear by prayers of repentance?” Then, we need to tell them that they must understand that their sins don’t go away by their prayer of repentance. We have to ask them, “Don’t you still have sins even after having believed in Jesus for so many years?”

In the beginning of your life of faith, your chest might feel refreshed. You may have felt emotionally fulfilled just by thinking about Jesus, and added to that, you must have felt cleansed after offering prayers of repentance. Yet, as the time passed by, the sins piled up in your hearts, and you realize that they don’t go away completely no matter how many prayers of repentance you offer. Isn’t it true?

For this reason, at first, people generally go to church in high spirits, but soon after, they become hypocrites like Pharisees. If we were to truly receive salvation from all our sins, we must believe in the Lord-given gospel of the water and the Spirit. If you still have sins in your heart even after having believed in Jesus, it is because the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit is not within your heart. If so, you have been merely a nominal Christian who goes to church by obligation and is prone to commit hypocrisy instinctively because there is no gospel of the water and the Spirit within your heart.

When we meet and talk with many of those who have lead a religious life for a long time, it is possible to see how their faith of believing in the doctrine of sanctification and in prayer of repentance is incorrect. The existing sins in their hearts are the immovable proof that they have not yet received true salvation from sin. According to the logic behind the doctrine of repentance, one would have to be sanctified to a great degree while offering prayers of repentance everyday. However, because such people have sin in their heart, they tend to grieve by saying, "What shall I do? What shall I do?" whenever there is a problem.

When people are young, they are able to keep their hearts strong with their will or vigor. But, as people age, their heart and will subside, their memory disappears, and they becomes sluggish. However, if we have faith in the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit during our declining years, we will conclude our life more quietly and peacefully because we have received the God-given remission of sins. But, people grieve because they do not have the Spirit inside their hearts since they do not have the faith of believing in the gospel Truth of the water and the Spirit in their hearts. Really, they can no longer claim their conviction because they are eventually revealed as sinners before God. This is true even after they pursue their conviction for a long time because they do not truly possess the faith of believing in the gospel of the water and the Spirit.

This is why we need to tell the truth when we preach the gospel to Christian believers, that they cannot receive the remission of sins by only offering prayers of repentance. If you still believe only in the prayer of repentance, you are leading a legalistic life of faith. If it were the case that sins go away by one's prayers of repentance, a person would need to offer these prayers because of the sins remaining in his heart. If so, one must offer prayers of repentance every single day. A person would have to offer prayers of repentance several times a day by admitting that he is inevitably a sinner because he cannot help but commit sins no matter how hard he tries not to do so. Then, can he be cleansed of all his sins by offering prayers of repentance, and deliver other sinners? It is necessary for us to tell those who offer these prayers of repentance that they would in fact end up becoming sinners through such legalistic faith.

Now, Those Who Believe in the Gospel of the Water and the Spirit Are No Longer under the Law

That is why the Apostle Paul said to the believers in Galatia, “Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is master of all, but is under guardians and stewards until the time appointed by the father”(Galatians 4:1-2). After knowing that we are truly created in the image of God and that God has completely saved us by the gospel of the water and the Spirit, we can have strong faith in the truth that God had surely saved us from all our sins.

Today’s Scripture passage states that, after the true faith that enables us to be saved by believing in the gospel of the water and the Spirit has come; we are no longer under a tutor, that is, the Law. After being born again by the gospel of the water and the Spirit, we no longer desire to receive the remission of sins by offering prayers of repentance, by keeping the Sabbath holy or by keeping the season of Lent and the festivities of the Old Testament well. After receiving the remission of sins by believing in the gospel of the water and the Spirit, we continue living by the faith of believing in God, as it is written, “The just shall live by faith” (Romans 1:17).“Now the just shall live by faith.” This means that we live by the faith of believing that the Lord has become our Savior and that He has blotted out all our sins. This is the meaning of the life of the just.

People who have lead a life of legalistic faith so far are those who are still deep in the elements. They are much different from those who have a higher standard of life because of faith. People who believe in the gospel of the water and the Spirit are those who are leading a life of an extremely high dimension of faith. But, people who still try to receive the remission of sins by offering prayers of repentance are those who are leading a life of faith without being aware of their sinful nature and the wrath of the Law. The wrath of the Law brings death to such people.

Of course, we have to study the elements. Young children have to attend school until they become adults. Why? It is because society believes that one must learn the basics in order function later on in life. However, the problem is that many Christians are bound under the Law of God itself. They have learned a lot about the Law, but they don’t even know its real purpose.

Because people are sinners from birth, they were born under the control of the Law. Why? It is because there are sins in their hearts. That is why sinners, whoever he or she may be, must meet Jesus Christ through the gospel of the water and the Spirit.

Galatians 4:4-5 states, “But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.” To redeem, as stated here, means to purchase with a price to pay. It means that I am paying money to have that person belong to me.

There were many slave markets in the old days. If a slave was needed, one had to buy a slave by paying an appropriate price. As such, in order for us to be taken into the Kingdom of God and to live forever with the status as the sons of God, the Lord had to atone for us with the redemption of the water and the Spirit. And thus, to pay for the price of our sins, the Lord died while hanging on the Cross, after He had received the baptism from John.

The Lord has redeemed us from all our sins like this: Everyone was a sinner because this world was under the Law before the coming of Jesus Christ. While we were such sinners, Jesus was born into this world by the body of the Virgin Mary. The Lord had to come down to this earth in human flesh, bear the sins of the humanity once and for all by receiving the baptism from John the Baptist at the Jordan River, die on the Cross by shedding His sacred blood, and then rise again from death. It means that Jesus had bought us by paying the wages of all of our sins with His merit of coming to this world, receiving the baptism to save us from sins, dying by shedding blood, and then rising from the dead again.

The Lord redeemed us from sin by offering Himself to God so that we could receive the adoption as sons through the pure faith of believing in Him. We were sinners before, but now, by believing in the merit of Christ, we have received the adoption as sons of God. The Lord saved us from all our sins through the gospel of the water and the Spirit, and because we received salvation from all sins once and for all by believing in the gospel of the water and the Spirit, He blesses us as mentioned in Galatians 4:6-7, “And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.” Truly, God has redeemed us from all our sins. After buying both you and me by paying the wages of all our sins with the gospel Truth of the water and the Spirit and with the merit of His sacrifice, He has made us into the people of God.

Now, those who believe in this gospel will become sons of God by being cleansed of all their sins. Thus, it is said that God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into the hearts of those who have received the remission of sins by faith, crying out, “Abba, Father!” And thereafter, we are no longer slaves but sons, and as sons, we are the heirs of God through Christ. It means that if we were truly the sons of God, we would be heirs to everything from God. It means that we will live forever as God lives forever, that we will enjoy the wealth and prosperity that He enjoys, and that we will receive every single thing that He has. It means that we have truly become the sons of God by the faith of believing in the gospel of the water and the Spirit.

Now, it means that those who believe in the gospel of the water and the Spirit shall never live as slaves under the elements of the world. It means that the born-again will neither be under the legalists in Christianity nor be under those worldly people who don’t even believe in Jesus. Through one of the Psalmists, the Lord said,

“Blessed is the man

Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,

Nor stands in the path of sinners,

Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;

But his delight is in the law of the LORD,

And in His law he meditates day and night” (Psalms 1:1-2).

The righteous can never work with the sinners hand in hand and should never work with them. Even if they do, they will not be able to get along with them. If you truly have received the remission of sins, you probably have experienced not being able to get along with people of the world. If you are getting along well with the people of the world, you should realize that you have become greatly corrupted. And realizing that you are becoming a tool for the evil, you should turn around quickly.

After I met God by the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit, I had to part with those with whom I had spent a life of faith together in the past. Although they wanted to work with me, I told them, “No. I can’t. I do not hate you personally, but I cannot be with you spiritually. If the gospel of the water and the Spirit that I am preaching is not wrong, you should believe in it, but if you do not believe in it, I cannot associate with you.” So long as they don’t believe in the gospel of the water and the Spirit, I could not do the work of God together with them. If I had worked with them, I would also have been deceitful. If I were to work together with legalists who insist that one would receive the remission of sins by offering prayers of repentance, I would also be cheating spiritually.

Yet, there are many such people among the Evangelicals. Such people are those who swindle money from people, while pretending to be divine. We cannot do such a thing. Upon meeting worldly friends from the past, I was able to see at once that I could never be together with them. I had wanted to meet with them only because we shared deep sentiments while we were growing up together, but the moment I discovered that their faith was only of the elements, I felt shame and humiliation for being together with them.

Of course, I am not asking you to sever ties with everyone in the world. Yet, to continue associating with those that you knew in the past is not beneficial. If you pass on the gospel of the water and the Spirit to your friends in a fleshly manner, they will always see you in a fleshly manner, so they will not accept the gospel Truth of the water and the Spirit you are preaching. That is why if you don't clean your worldly friends out of your hearts, you will not be able to serve the Lord, to follow the Lord, and to spread the gospel. As it is written that Abraham left his country, his family, and his father's house to follow the Word of God, we cannot follow the Word of God without throwing away our old relationships. We really should not become slaves to people of the world or slaves to the legalists. We should not continue to work with them.

This is why the Apostle Paul said, "How is it that you desire to be in bondage of the elements again, even though you have now come to know the gospel of the water and the Spirit?" He was saying "How is it that we wish to return to the world and revert back to the faith of the circumcisionists who still say prayers of repentance are necessary even though we have already received the remission of sins." Doing so would nullify what Jesus Christ has done for us, that is, His coming to this earth, receiving the baptism, and dying on the Cross to save us. How can we revert back to the elements, submit to the legalists, and continue indulging in secular pleasures when Jesus Christ has personally confronted and borne all the persecutions to save us? We should never do that. We should never be like that. If we are to become servants, we should become a servant to righteousness. We should avoid becoming servants of sin, servants of the devil, or servants of the legalists. The Apostle Paul also said that one should not become servants of those who do not perform righteous works.

Because the Lord has saved us by the gospel of the water and the Spirit, the Apostle Paul speaks like this, “For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.” It means that although God had given us true liberty, we should not offer that liberty as a servant to the evil works nor to the work of serving the flesh. When we were on the verge of being cursed while bound by sins, God saved us from the curse of sin and the curse of the Law. Jesus gave us true liberty by cutting off the bondage that was tying us down.

It is written in the Bible that the Lord gave us true liberty with the hope that we would willingly live for righteous work. Yet, do you wish to be tied down again by the world? If a born-again saint wishes to be bound by sin and act as a slave to the world again, it is only right for that person to receive reprimand. Therefore, we must listen carefully to the words that God speaks to you and me through His Church.

This year, there are so many works of God to be done through His Church. Until now, we have prepared a lot, and from now on, we will actually do a lot of work. We are in need of many workers of God. That is why it is utterly joyous to know that the number of workers to do the work of God is growing. All saints have to be faithful to their duties, to serve God, to pray, and to lead the family by diligently earning money; all ministers also have to be faithful to their duties at their respective places. There is so much work for us to do at our own positions.

We should never be in bondage to the weak and beggarly elements. The opposite of precious is beggarly. Those who do not do righteous work are proper to be call beggarly people. They are also described as the contemptible, lowly, and vulgar. An assemblyman not living for the people but only working for his own party is doing contemptible work. Wouldn’t an assemblyman who only goes after personal and party’s interests with national responsibilities in the back of the mind, be but a small-minded person or a scoundrel?

If we the Christians ignore the gospel Truth in order to defend the doctrines of our own denomination, we would be the narrow-minded scoundrels. Proponents of prayer of repentance and the circumcisionists are precisely such people.

We the Christians should grow properly in God’s Church with faith, nourished by the Word of God. Furthermore, we must unite our strength together, walking by faith. There is no such thing as “That’s okay if the person is there. I don’t have to do it anymore.” Every one of you is needed.

These days, I wish I had about ten bodies. In an ancient Chinese novel entitled “The Journey to the West (Xi You Ji),” there is the monkey king named Sun Wukong, who pulled out his hair and blew into it to make tens of his clones, and I am on the verge of wishing I could do such a thing. I wish one of my duplications would do the literary work, another would do the work of earning material goods, still another would meet and associate with saints, and yet another would travel around the world and preach the gospel. I am just saying that I wish I could swiftly do numerous works like that.

Dear fellow believers, do you wish to go back to the elements? Do you want to go back to such legalistic faith, which says that a person can receive the remission of sins by offering prayers of repentance? Do you want to go back to such religious faith, legalistic faith, and worldly faith, which say that a person would receive the remission of sins just by believing in the blood of Jesus on the Cross? I know you are not like that.

You and I would be a tool for righteousness if we give our flesh to the righteous work, but you and I would become a servant for the evil work if we give our flesh to evil works, even though we have received the remission of sins. That is why the Lord speaks to you to become a servant of the righteousness. Whoever it may be, if we give our body as an instrument for righteousness, the Spirit within us will be happy, God will bestow grace upon us, and He will give us blessings in due times. However, if we give our body as a tool for evil works, only curses will follow. In doing so, we meet people we should not meet and become tainted with defiled things whether we had intended or not. We may also be stained by their evil thoughts or evil convictions.

The Apostle Paul made a great amount of effort on behalf of the Galatian churches, but the circumcisionists came and destroyed everything. That is why the Apostle Paul said, “Do not make what I have done for you in vain. I implore you not to make it in vain.” And yet, after the death of the Apostle Paul, the churches in Galatia had disappeared because the saints and the servant of God submitted to the activities of the circumcisionists, and as such, the early churches disappeared in vain.

Dear fellow believers, if we allow the legalists who claim that sins disappear by offering prayers of repentance to exist within our church, all of us, whoever that may be, would die. First, we should not become such people ourselves, and although we should wait for those who are lacking physically, we should never tolerate those who are undermining the Church and misinterpret the Word of God. It is possible to improve physical deficiencies, but misinterpreting the Word will lead us straight to death. Not only the interpreter himself but also all those around him would die. If one were to correctly understand and explain God’s Word, many people would be able to receive salvation, but if not, please keep in mind that a great number of people would die. Therefore, we should not allow such false teachers to work in God’s Church.

This is why preachers of God’s Word are very important people to you. Dear fellow believers, you who are supporting the gospel ministries are very important people and the staff workers who serve the gospel in many forms are also very important people, but you must think most importantly of those who are preaching the Word of God to you.

Now, we shouldn’t lead a life of faith immersed in the Law, which is like the elements. Also, we shouldn’t revert back to such faith. We should always live by the faith of believing in the gospel of the water and the Spirit and we will become victorious. We should truly live by the faith of believing in the gospel of the water and the Spirit and spread the gospel Truth to many more nations; we should spread this gospel throughout the world and live by faith until the day we go before God.

I wish for you to willingly offer your heart and your body in supporting the spreading of the gospel. I also dedicate myself to the Lord. Right now, I am faithfully doing the work that was entrusted to me, which is supporting the spread of the gospel. I believe that you all will also do your duties faithfully. By escaping from the legalistic faith of this world, we should live for the glory of God whether we are drinking or eating.

I thank the Lord for saving us from all chaos and for transferring us into the Kingdom of the Son of God. Hallelujah!
